Allen & Overy’s ransomware attack by the hacking group LockBit could hardly have come at a worse time for the firm. The firm’s merger with Shearman & Sterling has been overwhelmingly approved by both sets of partners, and is due to go live next year. 

It is unclear what data LockBit has managed to acquire from A&O, but the group has claimed that it will publish what it has on the dark web on November 28. The firm said that the incident impacted “a small number of storage servers”.
