It’s every direct-selling company’s nightmare: To have the Federal Trade Commission bringing claims that you’re operating a pyramid scheme. But that’s precisely what Neora, a seller of skin care, weight loss and other wellness products, and its founder Jeff Olson faced last year in a bench trial before Senior U.S. District Judge Barbara Lynn in Dallas.

Last week, the judge issued a decision vindicating the company and its business model, a huge win for Neora’s defense team, led by Foley & Lardner partners Ed Burbach, Craig Florence and Michelle Ku.
