Attorneys for plaintiff states in a dispute over President Joe Biden’s effort to roll back a COVID-era limit on immigration don’t know why the U.S. Supreme Court removed the case from the court’s oral argument calendar Thursday. 

“While we will not speculate why they removed it from the calendar, we will note the Supreme Court did not dismiss our case or dissolve our stay pending certiorari of the termination of Title 42,” said Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry in a statement sent Thursday even after AZ v. Mayorkas was bumped from the calendar by the high court without explanation.
