The Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission will join state agencies to crack down on illegal robocallers and telemarketing scams, the U.S. agencies said Tuesday.  

The FTC, DOJ and FTC have dubbed the initiative with the 50 state attorneys general “Operation Stop Scam Calls” with the goal of stopping telemarketers, lead generators, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service providers from making illegal telemarketing calls nationwide.
