The Civil Rights Clinic at Cardozo Law School and the LGBT Rights Clinic at Cornell Law School are collaborating on a federal lawsuit for a transgender woman who said she was sexually attacked by another inmate at an upstate prison.

The Southern District suit, Manning v. Griffin, 15-cv-003, contends that prison employees have long known about LeslieAnn Manning’s vulnerability to attack by other inmates, yet failed to prevent the February 2013 assault by a male prisoner in a classroom at the maximum-security Sullivan Correctional Facility in Fallsburg (See Complaint).
