The ongoing explosions in Americans with Disabilities Act Title III federal lawsuits has accelerated to new heights in 2018, with the recent trend in website access suits helping push the numbers higher still, according to a recent review published by partners at Seyfarth Shaw.

The secondary trend of website cases has helped make New York the second leading state for ADA Title III claims in the country over the first six months of 2018, the review found. With 1,026 suits filed in federal courts, New York has eclipsed Florida, at 882 suits, for the second place spot. Both states continue to trail far behind California, which saw more than double New York’s filings with 2,155 during the first half of the year, according to Seyfarth’s analysis.
