U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan of the Southern District of New York on Wednesday ruled that ex-President Donald Trump’s lawyers may not reference a litigation funder’s support of E. Jean Carroll’s case.

Trump’s lawyers have argued that Carroll is pursuing the case for political reasons and indicated the funding information, which reportedly involves a nonprofit connected to a prominent Democratic donor, would add further strength to that argument.
