A former immigration lawyer who was disbarred last year is now facing charges of stealing thousands from clients while practicing without a law license, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced Monday.

Owolabi Salis, 60, has been indicted on charges of third-degree and fourth-degree grand larceny, second-degree criminal contempt, first-degree scheme to defraud, first-degree immigrant assistance services fraud and the unlawful practice of the law.
