A flood of organizations that back immigrant survivors of violence are urging New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to sign a bill that would require New York courts to provide legally documented immigrants and residents notice that their guilty pleas could result in deportations or denials of naturalization.

The bill is captioned A3057/S5826, the Fair Courts for Immigrant New Yorkers Act, and advocates wrote to Hochul on Monday in a bid to get the measure enacted into law.
