During opening statements Monday in a lawsuit accusing Davis Polk & Wardwell of retaliation, jurors were offered sharply diverging accounts of former Davis Polk associate Kaloma Cardwell’s time at the firm.
Cardwell, the only Black male in the class of Davis Polk associate starting in 2014, sued the firm in 2019.
