Two former top aides to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and a high-tech entrepreneur at the State University of New York are among nine defendants named in federal corruption indictments unsealed Thursday.
The charges from Southern District U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara’s office allege bribery, corruption and fraud in connection with the way the Cuomo administration dispensed hundreds of millions of dollars in economic development projects that the Democratic governor has regarded as among the signal achievements of his nearly six years in office.
