A Trenton, New Jersey, federal judge is allowing three migrant families whose children were taken away from them under the Trump administration’s family separation policy to proceed with damage suits under the Federal Tort Claims Act.

U.S. District Judge Michael Shipp denied a motion by attorneys for the United States to dismiss the three suits, which were brought by the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest.
