An attorney has been censured after she retained a litigation support company over the course of a decade to assist her with legal research and draft pleadings, despite knowing that the company was run by a disbarred attorney with prior criminal convictions.

New Jersey solo practitioner Leah E. Capece retained Litigation Support Services to assist her with a legal matter involving a former partner. LSS was run by Leonard T. Bzura, a former New Jersey attorney disbarred in 1995 following his criminal conviction for theft by deception, misapplication of entrusted property, and related crimes. His company offered legal support services exclusively to attorneys, according to a Disciplinary Review Board letter decision.
