Prepaid Cell Phone Lawsuit Generating Fat Legal Fees

Systems for providing cell phone users with prepaid service have become the subject of a big-bucks legal dispute. Douglas Fougnies and Dan Harned have sued Boston Communications Group Inc. and other carriers for as much as $1 billion for allegedly infringing their patents on such a system and shutting their company, Freedom Wireless Inc., out of the market. BCG says it's already incurred more than $15 million in legal fees.
