Neither the National Football League officials nor the NFL’s outside counsel from Haynes and Boone coached or counseled Scott Suprina, a contractor who worked on seating for Super Bowl XLV, before he testified for a videotaped deposition played at a federal trial that pitted ticket holders against the league. That’s according to both Thad Behrens, a partner in Dallas’ Haynes and Boone, who represents the NFL, and Stephen Jones of Enid, Oklahoma, who represents Suprina.

The two lawyers made statements in response in part to a March 11 letter that Suprina wrote and addressed to “the NFL, Dallas Cowboys, media and fans.” Suprina’s letter said: “I was deposed for the ticket trial. Pre-deposition, I was reminded of the need to not divulge too much by representatives of the NFL…”
