SAN FRANCISCO — Vinson & Elkins, still a new kid on the block in San Francisco, has plucked two litigators from more established firms. Fenwick & West’s former litigation chair Darryl Woo became V&E’s first Bay Area patent litigation partner, while product liability and class action partner Mortimer Hartwell joined from Morgan Lewis & Bockius.
V&E, which opened its Palo Alto office in 2010 and its San Francisco office in 2012, hopes to build up “a top-tier litigation boutique” with a tech client base, Woo said.
