SAN FRANCISCO — Corporate partner David Johanson joined Fenwick & West as a partner in Silicon Valley on Monday. He departs from Kirkland & Ellis.
Johanson, who represents private-equity funds focused on technology, said Fenwick’s tech expertise presented a stronger platform for his practice. Because a young company’s employees often represent the bulk of its assets, he said, tech transactional work often involves talent retention issues and incentives that can be very particular to the industry.
