Chicago-based McDonald’s Corp. announced in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday that general counsel Jerome Krulewitch will retire effective immediately following a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.

The filing indicates that a search for Krulewitch’s successor is underway. McDonald’s U.S. general counsel, Mahrukh Hussain, will serve as the company’s interim general counsel.
