Lawyers challenging outrageous delays and backlogs in Bronx Criminal Court can still pursue relief in federal court, but they will need new plaintiffs.

Southern District Judge George Daniels on Thursday accepted the state’s arguments that the current set of plaintiffs lacks standing to sue because there are no longer pending charges against them, so the judge dismissed the case of Trowbridge v. Cuomo, 16 civ. 3455, but without prejudice.
