Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Eileen Bransten (See Profile) has confirmed a $17.58 million arbitration award, plus interest, for Worby Groner & Edelman against Napoli Bern & Associates.

The two law firms formed a joint venture in 2004 to litigate thousands of cases on behalf of rescue and clean-up workers who became ill after exposure to the World Trade Center site.

In 2012, Worby commenced an arbitration against Napoli Bern before the American Arbitration Association, disputing the division of expense reimbursement between the firms. In 2014, the panel awarded Worby Groner $17.58 million, including fees and costs. The damages covered the period through the end of 2012.
