A Queens judge denied a motion by a defendant in an armed robbery case to have an expert witness testify on the reliability of eyewitness accounts.

In People v. Genero Placencia, 814/2014, Supreme Court Justice Robert Kohm wrote that the proposed evidence—which includes footage from three surveillance cameras showing the defendant, Genero Placencia, allegedly fleeing a robbery scene—”definitively and with a very high degree of certitude” supports the victim’s identification of Placencia.
