“Real heroes don't die, they just reload.”

The tagline from the 2008 movie “Rambo” perfectly captures the indomitable spirit of the ex-military renegade John Rambo. He views himself as a hero and believes that the only way to solve his problems is to use violent, unorthodox methods. No matter how many people are injured or killed in the process, Rambo chalks it up as the necessary cost of winning his argument.

Unfortunately, some attorneys have taken it upon themselves to become the Rambos of the courtroom. They believe that the only way to win their cases is to come in with guns blazing, and that the rules of professional conduct and ethics are necessary sacrifices to become courtroom heroes. Rambo lawyers use every guerrilla tactic in their arsenals to attack opposing counsel, including hostility, foul language, personal attacks, deceit and other aggressive strategies.
