The Deal: The Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson team represented minority partner Grass River Property in the $87.5 million acquisition of CocoWalk, the open-air retail center in the heart of Miami's Coconut Grove. The deal closed May 4.
Developers Grass River based in Coconut Grove and the Comras Co. based in Miami Beach acquired a 20 percent interest in the 198,000-square-foot property. Publicly traded Federal Realty Investment Trust, which is based in Rockville, Maryland, and operates 90 shopping centers in 12 states and the District of Columbia, purchased the majority interest.
