Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has hired a new energy partner to work from Singapore.
Paul Greening, who was most recently a Hong Kong-based associate at Vinson & Elkins, will join the firm's oil and gas practice starting July 20. He'll stay in the Chinese city for a few months before relocating to Singapore later this year.
Greening advises clients on energy, utilities and infrastructure projects, with a focus on acquisitions and divestitures in the oil and gas space. Last December, he was part of the Vinson & Elkins team advising Perth-based Woodside Petroleum Ltd. on a $2.75 billion purchase of four oil and gas stakes in Australia and Canada from Apache Corp.
