A federal jury awarded about $500,000 to a former Fort Pierce police officer in a sex discrimination lawsuit after concluding her supervisors harassed her for being a woman and demoted her for filing a discrimination complaint.

Kristin Anderson, whose highest rank was sergeant, alleged a lieutenant called her a “badge bunny” who was only interested in having sex with male officers and spread rumors about her involvement with a married detective.
