Two brothers alleging they were physically and sexually abused in foster care homes have settled their claims against a foster care agency for $1.35 million in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, lawyers in the case have said.

The plaintiffs alleged they were abused in the home, and the foster care agency had failed to vet the foster mother and heed the warning signs of abuse. The boys were placed in the home by defendant Friendship House, which agreed to settle the consolidated cases Oct. 16. The settlement includes $675,000 for each plaintiff.
