U.S. Technologies Buys Company in Nevada

An electronics and design manufacturing firm, U.S. Technologies, based in Fair Lawn, has purchased a company that makes radio frequency and microwave amplifiers. Broadband Wireless, which is located in Nevada, was purchased for an undisclosed amount, according to a press release. U.S. Technologies currently employs 45 people in two locations. Broadband Wireless will operate as an independent subsidiary of U.S. Technologies, the company added.

Taligent Acquires Alveda Pharmaceuticals' Assets

Buena-based genetic pharmaceutical company Teligent announced Nov. 16 that it has purchased the assets of Alveda Pharmaceuticals Inc. for $47 million. Teligent said it hopes the acquisition of Alveda will help the company expand its specialty generic pharmaceutical portfolio into Canada.

Software Company Bought by California Investment Firm

A California-based investment firm acquired Woodcliff-based software company Syncsort Incorporated, a provider of enterprise solutions. Syncsort will use the investment firm's resources to implement its growth strategy and build on technology alliances Syncsort recently made with industry leaders Amazon Web Services, MapR, Dell and Splunk. The investment firm, Clearlake Capital Group, did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
