There must be something extra alluring about a public radio voice coasting over the five syllables of Zuck-Er-Man-Spae-Der. The litigation boutique and a handful of general service law firms with offices in Washington bought National Public Radio sponsorships in 2015, positioning their names on the hottest auditory advertising avenue of the year.

New Jersey-based Lowenstein Sandler, which opened in D.C. 16 months ago, placed a spot on WAMU, the Washington NPR affiliate station, beginning in October. Cooley has run spots nationally since spring 2015. Zuckerman Spaeder and Jones Day also have had NPR ads in rotation. “You may have noticed that there are a lot of other law firms in D.C., so we thought that the NPR spots were a nice way to help get the word out,” Lowenstein chairman Gary Wingens said.
