Osborne Clarke has hired two partners from Irwin Mitchell in a boost for the firm's London corporate practice.

Edward Persse, who has been a partner at Irwin Mitchell for 10 years, is lead partner for some of the firm's major corporate clients and has worked on deals including the sale of Toni & Guy's retail hair products business to Unilever. Meanwhile, Paul Smith, who made partner at Irwin Mitchell last year, advises on M&A, investment and joint ventures.

The moves come after Irwin Mitchell saw five partners quit its London real estate team last month, including four joining Dentons.

Squire Patton Boggs has boosted its London corporate ranks with the hire of Kashif Siddiqui. Siddiqui's practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions (both public and private), disposals, joint ventures and reorganisations. He joins from Trowers & Hamlins, where he had been a corporate partner since September 2015.

Jones Day has hired former Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) partner Nadim Khan. Khan left HSF in May, having been head of Middle East finance at the firm. He joins the projects and infrastructure practice in Jones Day's Dubai office.

Holman Fenwick Willan has hired Clifford Chance's (CC) Southeast Asia regional general manager Justin Young as its COO. Young held the role at CC for six years, where he led the magic circle firm's business services team in the area.

Eversheds has recruited Jonathan Douglas as a partner for its City construction and engineering team. Douglas joins from Nabarro, where he made partner in 2005. He was also on Nabarro's partnership board. He specialises in offshore wind, power and energy, and office and retail work for owners and contractors.

City litigation specialist firm Signature Litigation has hired litigation partner Ioannis Alexopoulos from Bryan Cave. Alexopoulos specialises in commercial litigation and international arbitration, including banking disputes. Signature's revenue rose by 36% to £10.2m during the 2015-16 financial year.

Commercial law and regulatory compliance partner Anthony Crane has joined Dentons' Johannesburg office. Before the move, Anthony was an independent legal consultant and prior to that, he was a director at Norton Rose Fulbright in South Africa.

Winston & Strawn has made a double arbitration partner hire this month, with the addition of Michael Stepek and Matthew Bate from Akin Gump. Both partners are joining Winston & Strawn's London-based international arbitration team, with Bate relocating from Akin Gump's Munich office.

KWM's former head of tax Heather Corben has joined private client firm Forsters. She had been head of tax at KWM for 10 years, prior to the firm's restructuring of its European arm earlier this year.

Dentons has boosted its Rome office with the hire of corporate partner Aian Abbas. She was previously a partner at Ashurst's Rome office, which closed in June.

Fieldfisher has recruited barrister Francesca Titus as a partner for its London dispute resolution practice. Titus joins from boutique litigation firm The Khan Partnership, where she was a partner and head of corporate and financial crime.

McDermott Will & Emery has hired City capital markets partner Hamid Yunis from Taylor Wessing, in a bid to boost the firm's healthcare practice. During his 14 years at Taylor Wessing, Yunis headed up the Islamic finance and Middle East practices, prior to becoming head of healthcare.

Harneys has hired two barristers – Peter Tyers-Smith and Peter Ferrer – as counsel for its British Virgin Islands litigation team. Tyers-Smith previously worked for 10 years at No. 5 Chambers. Ferrer joins from Quadrant Chambers and has practised for 17 years at the Commercial Bar in London.

The firm has also hired Latham & Watkins counsel Dipti Thakar in Singapore and added six associates to its Cayman Islands office, including hires from firms including Pinsent Masons and Allens.
