Gowling WLG has appointed planning lawyer Vicky Fowler [pictured] as a partner in its London office. She was previously a partner at Berwin Leighton Paisner, which she joined in 1999, making partner in 2009. Highlights of her career include advising on the development of the London Olympic site in Stratford, advising the government on the development of the National Football Centre and representing parties in connection with infrastructure developments Crossrail and HS2.
Andrew Thomas, head of planning at Gowling WLG, said: "Vicky is a well known figure in the market [who] will bring with her vast experience of advising on some of the country's most complex and contentious, yet successful, schemes."
Memery Crystal has made a double partner hire from Irwin Mitchell and Gowling WLG. Tax partner Alex Barnes joins the firm from Irwin Mitchell in Birmingham. He advises clients on the tax aspects of corporate and real estate matters. Commercial lawyer Jonathan Riley joins from Gowling WLG, where he was a partner. He focuses on areas such as sales and marketing, licensing, franchising, sponsorship, and project structuring and delivery.
Addleshaw Goddard litigation partner Kambiz Larizadeh is to join Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in London. Larizadeh focuses on fraud, commercial litigation and arbitration. He joined Addleshaws in 2013 as a partner from Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, where he was a counsel.
Addleshaw Goddard has appointed Jonathan Fletcher Rogers as a partner and head of its employee incentives team. He was previously a partner at boutique firm Abbiss Cadres and prior to that, spent more than 10 years in the share incentives practice at Allen & Overy. He joins the firm in its London office.
Osborne Clarke has hired regulatory partner Katharine Vickery from Eversheds, where she had been a partner since 2011. Vickery is a solicitor advocate, with a practice that includes advising clients on health and safety, consumer protection, food safety and environmental matters.
Kennedys has boosted its Middle Eastern aviation practice with the hire of dispute resolution and commercial lawyer Nick Humphrey. He joins the firm in Dubai as a partner from Clyde & Co, where he was a legal director.
RPC Consulting has bolstered its ranks with two new appointments from insurance company Willis Towers Watson. John Rowland joins as managing director and head of life insurance consulting. In his previous role he was global leader of life capital modelling, responsible for developing consulting and software options to deal with risks and regulatory requirements. Sam Worthington also joins, having previously been head of economic scenario generation and asset modelling at the insurance giant.
Shakespeare Martineau has hired family partner Caroline Elliott from Nelsons Solicitors. She joins the top 50 firm in Nottingham, to strengthen its East Midlands family law offering.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.
