"I have a lot of lawyer friends who are really excited about what's happening," says Josh Garcia, a New York-based attorney for Cooley who specializes in fintech. "They want to work in blockchain; they want to be blockchain. People are getting excited about it, and talking about themselves as cryptocurrency lawyers much in the way that a few years ago people started talking about themselves as tech lawyers." This might not be a surprise to anyone who has attended a legal technology conference this year, or even reads the pages of Legaltech News. But even with so many interested in blockchain, the fast-moving nature of the technology leaves a number of people guessing as to what's next. But that doesn't stop us from speculating.
