Withers has promoted two City lawyers and six US lawyers to its partnership.

The most recent round of promotions saw five lawyers in the firm's private client and tax team made up, with the rest in the firm's international tax, real estate and immigration practices.

The two new London partners are Stephen Nerland and Jaime McLemore, who are both private client lawyers.

Nerland's practice involves advising overseas US nationals on their US tax and estate planning, as well as advising non-US individuals on tax planning ahead of moving to the US.

McLemore also advises US nationals based in the UK on their US tax and estate planning and compliance, as well as advising individuals and organisations on charitable giving.

Withers chairman Ivan Sacks (pictured) said: "These talented new partners will help us to continue enhancing the services we offer our clients and growing our business around the world."

In July 2017, the firm promoted six City lawyers to partner out of an eight-strong promotion round.

Withers delivered an 8% revenue increase to £174.5m in 2016-17, up from £161.5m the year before.

The firm has grown consistently during the past 10 years, with revenues more than doubling since 2006-07, when the firm generated £78.2m.
