Stephenson Harwood has promoted five lawyers to its London partnership in an increased promotions round.

The new City partners are Kate Cordery and Ben Sigler in the firm's commercial litigation practice, alongside Emily Osborne in private wealth. The additional two new partners in London are corporate-focused Tom Page and marine and international trade lawyer Jonathan Spearing.

The firm has also appointed three local partners in Hong Kong, litigator Ian Childs and Silvia On and Ivy Wong, who focus on private wealth and corporate finance respectively. Local partners are members of the partnership of the office in which they are based, but are not members of the international LLP.

The promotions come into effect on 1 May.

The firm has doubled its annual promotions round after appointing three London lawyers in 2017 to its partnership, alongside one local partner promotion in Hong Kong.

In March, Stephenson Harwood bolstered is Asia presence with the acquisition of Troutman Sanders' Beijing office, as the US firm wound down its operations in Asia.

Troutman's team in the Chinese capital is led by partner Allen Shyu and specialises in capital markets work. It is made up of 11 fee earners, including two of counsel.
