This year's Am Law 100 results are out and the story for America's biggest law firms is pretty rosy—5.5 percent gross revenue growth. But there's a catch: volatility.
Am Law 100 firms are increasingly operating in an environment where client demand ticks up one year and down the next. That leaves managers to grapple with how to plan, how to budget and, not insignificantly, how to manage partner expectations.
