Just two days after being thrust into a racism controversy by Roseanne Barr, Valerie Jarrett told a group of legal educators assembled in Chicago that they must work hard to help law students find common ground.

Jarrett, a senior adviser to President Barack Obama and distinguished senior fellow at the University of Chicago Law School, sat down for a fireside chat with Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law Dean Dan Rodriguez on May 31 during a conference on law school fundraising organized by the American Bar Association.
