SF Wins Sanctuary Fight Against Trump, but Court Tosses National Injunction
A Ninth Circuit panel ruled against the Trump administration in a dispute over cutting certain funds to so-called sanctuary cities. But the panel struck down a nationwide injunction. The U.S. Justice Department led by Jeff Sessions has railed on the rising number of nationwide injunctions.

“Today's divided Ninth Circuit opinion is a victory for criminal aliens in California, who can continue to commit crimes knowing that the state's leadership will protect them from federal immigration officers whose job it is to hold them accountable and remove them from the country. The Justice Department continues to maintain that—as the dissenting judge recognized—the president exercised his lawful authority when he issued the sanctuary city executive order."
