Norton Rose Fulbright Closes Office in Colombia
The shuttering of the office comes a month after the firm closed its office in Venezuela. The firm says it will now focus on Brazil and Mexico.

Norton Rose Fulbright has closed its office in Bogatá, Colombia — its second office closure in Latin America this year.
“Our focus in Latin America has changed, with our client activity and growth centred on our offices in Brazil and Mexico, which are in growth mode,” a Norton Rose spokesperson said. “Therefore, it was decided that the best course of action for the Bogotá team and Norton Rose Fulbright was to close the office.”
The firm shuttered its Bogatá office in February and closed its Venezuela office in January. It said at the time of the closing in Venezuela that market conditions in the country were challenging. Dentons, which has rapidly expanded in Latin America and the Caribbean, took over Norton Rose's 26-attorney Caracas office, which is now called Despacho de Abogados miembros de Dentons.
Norton Rose said that Bogata partner Leopoldo Olavarria has relocated to the Mexico City office, where he will continue to advise clients in Colombia. The Colombia office had four partners and 10 associates, according to ALM Intelligence. The firm did not say whether the others are still with the firm.
The firm's Mexico City office boasts 15 attorneys and 11 support staff. In February, it expanded that office, adding to its projects and energy team. Norton Rose has two offices in Brazil — in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, which it opened in 2010 and 2014 respectively.

The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
