Ashurst has appointed two partners from Frankfurt and London to sit on the firm's global executive board for three-year terms.

London based partner David Jones (pictured) currently heads up the real estate capital markets team and also acts as the industry lead for real estate in the EMEA and U.S. regions.

He takes over from Sarah Sivyour, who has become the co-head of Ashurst's projects and real estate division.

In Frankfurt, Tobias Krug has taken up a seat on the board. Krug is a partner in the finance practice, and has acted as managing partner of Ashurst in Germany over the past six years.

He takes over from Bernd Egbers, a former finance and banking partner in the firm's Munich office who was asked to leave the firm in June over a conduct issue.

Ashurst chairman Ben Tidswell said in a statement: "I would like to congratulate David and Tobias on their appointment to the Board. Their leadership skills and exceptional track record of delivering for our business, people and clients will be invaluable in their new roles."

The Board currently comprises chairman Ben Tidswell (London), global managing partner Paul Jenkins (London and Sydney), partners Karen Davies (London), David Jones (London), Tobias Krug (Frankfurt), James Marshall (Sydney), Barbara Phair (Sydney) and chief financial officer Mark Herbert (London), as well as independent board members Wu Gang and Robin Lawther.
