Todd Maron, the former general counsel of Tesla, has been working as the top lawyer at the bike-share app Wheels Labs Inc. for the past two months, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Wheels did not respond to a request for comment, and Maron could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Maron said he was excited to join the West Hollywood, California-based Wheels and that "micromobility is both interesting and worthwhile."

"I'm convinced that Wheels' unique approach to safety, accessibility and sustainability is the right solution," Maron said.

Maron joined Tesla in 2013 as deputy general counsel and in September 2014 became the company's top lawyer. While at Tesla, he also served as then CEO Elon Musk's personal divorce attorney. Before beginning to work at Tesla, Maron was an attorney at Jaffe and Clemens, a family law firm based in Beverly Hills, California.

Maron left Tesla in January and Dane Butswinkas took over. Butswinkas left the car company in February and Jonathan Chang took over as general counsel.

The electric bike-sharing company raised $50 million in its latest funding round, according to a Reuters report. The company was founded by brothers Joshua Viner and Jonathan Viner. The brothers are also the founders of the dog walking app company, Wag Labs Inc.
