Resilience is a buzzword for our times—maybe because it's rarely seemed more necessary. For leaders in any organization, the challenge isn't simply managing your own day-to-day stress but creating teams where individuals thrive amid crisis and uncertainty.

On this Legal Speak podcast, Uber Technologies Associate GC Matt Wilson shares advice for fostering resilience, well-being and psychological safety as a leader.

Wilson leads Uber's 90-member legal team across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The team has a 50/50 gender split and includes members of 30 different nationalities, who are based in over 20 locations. He began his legal career at Baker & McKenzie and previously worked in house at Telefonica and Arsenal Football Club.

Speaking with Heather Nevitt, editor in chief of Law.com affiliates Corporate Counsel, Inside Counsel and Global Leaders in Law, Wilson says resilience is a quality that leaders can cultivate by creating a culture where colleagues feel appreciated as individuals and where problems can be surfaced and resolved collaboratively.
