When Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner this week announced a new chief transformation officer, it became at least the third Am Law 200 firm in the span of a week to expand its C-suite staff to oversee strategy, client relations or growth.

Last week, Norton Rose Fulbright named its first chief strategic alignment, innovation and people officer and its first client relations officer. Around the same time, Lathrop GPM, coming off a major Midwest merger, said it created a new leadership role—chief client officer—meant to oversee major marketing initiatives and client feedback.
