The Shift

Earlier this month, LegalVision, an Australian-based fixed-fee law firm, announced it would be expanding to New Zealand next year. It's an easy story to miss, particularly if you're: A) in a large traditional firm, and B) located in the U.S. But then, you probably would have also missed alternative firm Rimon entering Colombia with a former Baker McKenzie hire. Or challenger law firm Gunnercooke beginning its first expansion outside the U.K. in Germany. Or Big 4 giant Deloitte hiring an eight-lawyer team from White & Case in Poland. And this is all within October alone.
