It Will Be Months Before We See the Next Patent Jury Trial
The Eastern District of Texas made headlines last week by putting patent infringement jury trials on hold until March. But other districts have been abandoning plans to resume them this fall as COVID-19 continues to spread.

(Photo: Harris County District Courts) After a brief burst of activity in Texas last summer and fall, it appears in-person jury trials in patent infringement suits will be on ice at least into January, and possibly longer.
Eastern District of Texas Chief Judge Rodney Gilstrap resumed patent jury trials back in July, followed by his Eastern District colleagues and U.S. District Judge Alan Albright of the Western District of Texas.

The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
