Tom Girardi’s Los Angeles law firm accepted $1.5 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans during the same time period in which the plaintiffs lawyer allegedly stole client money, according to data from the Small Business Administration.

On Monday, a federal judge issued a $2 million judgement against Girardi and his firm, Girardi Keese, and froze their assets after finding that they might have embezzled client money in lawsuits over Boeing’s Max 8 crash in Indonesia in 2018.
