Steve Ryan's Left Big Law: What's Next
Steve Ryan (above) of McDermott Will & Emery, the veteran congressional investigations lawyer, is setting off on his own.
"I practiced law for 41 years. I had been in a boutique, a midsize firm and a large firm, and my government career. And I felt that it was a good time to make a change," Ryan said in a recent interview. Good congressional oversight, Ryan said, reflecting back on his career, "is critical to making the agencies behave. They don't self behave. And that's not an observation about any presidency."
