After a turbulent year that put racial justice issues front and center, how much progress has the legal profession seen in diversity, equity and inclusion? According to a Twitter chat panel that convened on the anniversary of George Floyd's murder, the DEI needle still has a lot of moving to do.

The chat, co-hosted by Law.com and GlobeSt.com, was titled "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Where Are We One Year Later?" The panel for the Law.com side of the chat included Loreal Arscott, principal owner at L.A. Law Firm P.A.; Narges Kakalia, director of diversity, equity and inclusion at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo; and Dominique B.E. Ward, ERISA counsel at Lincoln Financial Group.

The hour-long chat covered a range of topics from the effects of remote work on inclusion and equity to the problem of implicit bias and how to remove it from the process of evaluating legal talent.
