The Shift: Ethical Corporate Culture Goes Beyond Compliance and ESG

Corporate culture is the shared beliefs, norms, traditions and values of the members of an organization. Simply put, it is "how we do things around here." But getting to that point requires implementation, leadership and buy-in.

As we know, legal department leaders are being tasked with revising workplace policies as a result of increased awareness of social issues from consumers and greater pushes for ESG initiatives from investors. However, creating an ethical corporate culture goes beyond just ESG. It is about a deeper implementation of transparency, integrity and accountability, which can only succeed when the GC has company-wide buy-in, from the employees to the executive ranks.
