The Shift: Neglecting Cybersecurity Isn't Just Risky. It's Reckless.

The news of a big breach at a major company or Big Law firm was once followed by an audible gasp, and for those affiliated with the brand in some way, a sinking feeling of dread.

That may not have changed much—particularly the dread. But it's become less shocking. The list of Big Law firms that have experienced some sort of breach continues to lengthen, just as the list of big consumer-facing companies has grown. Midsize and smaller firms, many of which have fewer resources to invest in cybersecurity, have also seen more than their fair share of cyberattacks.
