New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday he will be resigning from office, marking a stunning downfall in the wake of a bombshell report that concluded he sexually harassed a slate of state employees.
The announcement caps off a dramatic collapse for the third-term governor who slingshotted to national acclaim in 2020 through his daily coronavirus briefings in the early days of the pandemic.
Poised to take his place is Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, who will become the first woman to serve as governor in New York history.
