Netflix and Warner Music were hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit Thursday in Michigan Eastern District Court over the 2020 holiday film “Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square.” The lawsuit, brought by attorney John T. Hermann on behalf of The Winfield Collection, contends that the film features a copyrighted cut-out Nativity scene that is visible for 109 seconds of the movie. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 2:21-cv-12173, The Winfield Collection, Ltd. v. Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc.
